Seven years ago, Tony Filippo joined Summer Thornton Design as a design intern, embarking on a new chapter after a career pivot.

He quickly became an indispensable member of our team, known for his sharp eye, a distinctly cool point of view, and an instinct for sourcing one of a kind vintage pieces. A true mix master, Tony has a talent for working with complex color palettes, unexpected pattern play, and co-mingling furniture genres in a way that feels both fun and timeless. No detail is too small. From custom door hardware to the perfect pillow trim, every element is considered.

He brings an edge to our work that keeps things interesting, always pushing for spaces that feel unexpected and entirely their own. It’s no surprise that he lives and breathes design.

Of course, no introduction to Tony would be complete without mentioning his unofficial titles: reigning Halloween costume champ, office best dressed, champion of office culture, and the driving force behind Wine Wednesdays. He brings not only talent, but an undeniable sense of ease and “cool” that has become part of our studio’s fabric.
