Lake Geneva Install

See inside our latest Lake Geneva interior design project—a joyful, layered home that celebrates history, color, and whimsy on the shores of Wisconsin’s most beloved lake.

When we shared a peek at our latest install—a sun-drenched lake house in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin—we were flooded with one very urgent question: What. Is. That. Rug.

We get it. The piece in question—a stunning Itti rug by Patterson Flynn—is a true showstopper. With its playful pattern and just the right hit of color, it anchors the living room beautifully. And no, we didn’t design this! It’s proof that sometimes the perfect piece already exists—you just have to find it.

A Cheerful Take on Tradition

The living room is a study in contrasts—traditional bones dressed in exuberant clothes. Soft yellow walls in Farrow & Ball’s Dayroom Yellow nod to the original paint color in this old Lake Geneva home. We wanted to honor that history but reimagine it through a fresher, more playful lens. Classic silhouettes mingle with unexpected patterns and textures—floral prints and a cheeky stripe or two—creating a space that feels both refined and full of life.

A Game Room with Personality

Just beyond, the billiards room makes a convincing argument that game rooms can (and should) be beautiful. We wrapped the walls in an Iksel wallpaper that mirrors the watery hues of the lake just outside. A bold orange rug sets the tone—vibrant and fun—while ample seating invites guests to linger long after the last ball is sunk. The result? A space that’s equal parts sophistication and fun, an entertainer’s dream.

A Modern-Day Music Room

Through a pair of double doors lies one of our favorite moments: the music room. Its oval shape—an architectural rarity—is a repeated feature in the home. We took that curve as an invitation to add softness: marbled wallpaper on the ceiling, feminine floral prints and the owner’s elegant grand piano as the eye-catching piece. It’s a modern-day lady’s sitting room, elegant and feminine, where lake views steal the show.

A Dining Room in Full Bloom

In the dining room, golden sunflowers practically leap off the table, their rich tones glowing against the blue de Gournay wallpaper. The effect is nothing short of transportive—here, it feels as though the flora have grown straight from the painted vines on the walls, blurring the boundary between art and nature. As always, the wallpaper steals the spotlight, wrapping the room in a lush, garden-like fantasy that changes with the light. It’s one of those spaces that reminds you why we’ll forever be devoted to the power of pattern.
